In 1993 Linde bought one of the four privatization blocks of shares of the 'Zakłady Gazów Technicznych Polgaz' ('Polgaz Technical Gas Works'), thereby creating the 'Linde Gaz Polska' corporation.
Investments made by the company over the course of several years of economic activity in Poland, allowed for the modernization of the existing production base, the transfer of modern technologies and improvement in the quality and safety of the production and distribution of gas.
By combining their own resources with the economic potential of the Polish subsidiary of the Swedish group of AGA (January 2002), and the acquisition of 'Poligaz Lodz', 'Eurogaz Bydgoszcz', 'Poligaz Gdańsk', 'Poligaz Jelenia Gora', and 'Hydrogas Poland', the economic potential of 'Linde Gaz Polska' has been further strengthened.
To meet the growing demand for gas as connected with highly dynamic economic growth as well as the development of new technologies, in August 2007 the 'Linde Gaz Polska' corporation decided to build another, modern air separation plant. The new plant was built in Kobierzyce in a Special Economic Zone in the vicinity of Wrocław, and was launched in 2010. Its production capacity will allow for the generation of up to 600 tons of gas per day.
Currently, the 'Linde Gas Polska' corporation is one of the largest companies in the industry. The sale of gas is carried out in four sales regions, based in Warsaw, Cracow, Gdansk and Wroclaw, branches and sales offices and a network of nearly 300 distribution centres throughout the country.
In 2011, the company's sales amounted to 395 million PLN, the company also set aside 58 million PLN for investments.
